Killed by Enemy Action in Newmarket High Street
on Tuesday 18th February, 1941

Born in Exning on 1st March 1909 [Newmarket 3b:473], son of Herbert Thomas and Sarah Elizabeth FULLER (née COLLEN) of Russel Villas,Oxford Street, Exning.

1911 census....Leslie [2] was at Russell Villas with his father Herbert [34] wheelwright and Carpenter, born Isleham, his mother Sarah [34] born Isleham and his brother Herbert John [5] born Exning

He married Janet Mildred GOULD [7-3-1909] in Ashby de la Zouch in Q3-1934, they lived at Elm Cottage, Exning Road, Newmarket. Frederick was a blacksmith/joiner, employed by A. Clarke and was working at The White Hart, High Street, Newmarket when it was bombed

Of the many civilians of the Commonwealth whose deaths were due to enemy action in the 1939-1945 War, the names of some 67,092 are commemorated in the Civilian War Dead Roll of Honour, located near St. George's Chapel in Westminster Abbey, London.





Leslie is buried in Exning Old Cemetery...Ref:W:115
and also commemorated on the Exning Road Plaque, kept in the Exning Road Working Mens Club
